Our skating season to date has presented us with many challenges and choreography weekend was no exception. The City of Regina workers were out on strike and all the city run arena's were closed. Luckily we were able to find ice at two other facilities - Emerald Park and the Sherwood Twins Arena's. The schedule we had to work with was not ideal, but skating on the larger ice surfaces was a nice bonus. Benoit arrived in Regina on time, but his luggage did not. It was finally located in Winnipeg and would arrive later that night. Meanwhile the Novice team was set to have a skills session with Benoit. After some frantic activity, a pair of new white ladies skates was found for Benoit to wear until we could pick up a pair of mens skates from another coach in the city. What a site to see!! Benoit was a good sport about it all, but I am sure was much relieved when his luggage and skates arrived at his hotel just after 11:00pm that night.

Choreography weekend was not without it's fun moments though: who can forget skating through the fog on the ice due to the heat and humidity, losing power in the arena due to the storm the next night, the Junior BBQ at Denise's, doing off ice in Susan's back yard - what a sight that must have been to the cars passing by.

Both teams love their new programs and are working hard to show them off at competition.
